Job Description:
We are actively recruiting for the Dutch Interpreter Job in Tavistock, an opportunity designed for experienced and qualified interpreters who are passionate about helping others communicate effectively. As a Dutch interpreter in Tavistock, you will play a key role in ensuring that individuals who speak limited English receive fair and accurate representation across healthcare, legal, and social service settings. Your linguistic expertise and professionalism will help remove communication barriers and promote inclusion in diverse environments.
Assignments vary daily — from interpreting during a medical appointment to assisting in a courtroom or supporting social workers in sensitive discussions. This is a freelance position offering complete flexibility, allowing you to accept assignments based on your availability and area of expertise. Requirements:
• Fluency in Dutch and English
• Professional interpreting qualification (DPSI, CI, or NRPSI preferred)
• Enhanced DBS certificate
• Two valid professional references
• Up-to-date CV and proof of ID
• Commitment to impartiality, confidentiality, and professionalism
Scope of Work:
• Interpret during healthcare consultations, legal proceedings, and community meetings
• Translate dialogue accurately and maintain the speaker’s intent
• Work across various modes – face-to-face, telephone, or video interpreting
• Follow ethical guidelines and data protection policies
• Collaborate with booking teams for assignment coordination
